Lemonade Day Elkhart County is celebrating its sixth year of refreshing citrus-themed events and youth entrepreneurial initiatives on Saturday May 20, 2017.
Students and their parents can register for Lemonade Day online or at one of the designated Registration locations. After picking up a FREE yellow Lemonade Day backpack, students work with their mentor on the Lemonade Day curriculum that will focus on creating a budget, making a savings plan, giving back to the community, building a stand, as well as many other lessons on building their own business – a lemonade stand!
Parents can easily follow along with the Lemonade Day model through the Mentor Console on the new JA & Lemonade Day website https://jalemonade.org/lemonade-day. It’s free and easy to sign-up.In your Lemonade Day account, participants will have access to all Lemonade Day tools and resources, such as setting goals, picking a location, building a stand and more.
“I love Lemonade Day! It’s one of my favorite days in Elkhart,” says Meggan Fink, Lemonade Day Committee member. “Not only does it get kids out there learning how to start their own business, but it’s also the perfect opportunity for parents to teach kids about how to responsibly manage money and emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community. Lemonade Day is raising up good citizens, and it’s a beautiful mission to be a part of.”
